Finca Rio Negro - 90 Punkte Parker

A Proprietary Blend Dry Red Table wine from La Mancha, Spain.

Review by Neal Martin:

“The 2009 Finca Rio Negro is a blend of 60% Tempranillo, 20% Syrah, 12%
Merlot and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon from Cogolludo, where apparently there
are no vineyards for 70 kilometers. It is matured in 60% French and 40%
American oak (one-third new). It offers a perfumed, peppermint-scented
bouquet that is nicely defined but might need another year to fully absorb
the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with a sumptuous, fleshy entry. This is
a plump Tempranillo with touches of mint chocolate chip infusing the lush
black fruit, though the finish remains nicely controlled and “well-behaved”.
Very fine”.
